Welcome Home Jonathan

Jonathan was very suprised Friday, July 3rd when he came home and saw all of his closest friends and relatives were there to greet him. He was excited to be home. His parents were so happy and proud to see their son after so much time passed. He is now home but only for a short while. During his time in Los Angeles, he has gained a bit of exposure and when he returns to do his last taping of the SYTYCD show. He will be relocating to L.A. to persue his career as an entertainer. That's the plan from what I understand.
Jonathan has not let fame take over him he is still very humble and gracious to anyone who recognizes him. Which is awesome because I knew this would happen as as we all sat with him to talk he kept telling me. "Judy, are you serious? Nobody knows me." I then told him people know you, watch and see. This past 4th of July weekend was the Orlando Salsa Congress at the JW Marriott and we all went to have a great time and Jonathan was given a opportunity to dance and say thank you to all supporting fans. While at the hotel he was stopped numerous times by people and was asked, "Are you Jonathan from SYTYCD?" it was great. It was funny but at the same time great. Jon did his solo routine on Saturday and was given a warm welcome from all the salseros and was able t speak and tell everyone "Thank you for your support" afterwards he hung out and talked and just had a blast at the congress.

That's it for now. Till the next time. :)

Jonathan ~ Eliminated but will not be forgotten!

Yes Jonathan's tour with SYTYCD Season 5 is over. We all are upset that the judges didn't feel he did enough to stay. We all beg to differ but it doesn't matter at this point. What's done is done. Jonathan did a wondeful job on the show and had lots of competition. It is unfortunate he wasn't one on the Preliminaries being one of the focused dancers. He himself didn't know he was going to make it. He tried out and just kept making it to the next round till he made it on the show. The Platero family is very proud of him and all of his friends and family from all over is definately happy of his accomplishments. It's not easy being on a reality series.

This is my take on this. We can blame it on many things but we shouldn't, it's TV, Ratings, that decide on what stays on the show and what doesn't. I thought about all the things that I could of done better to help him out. I tried to think about what could others have done. I can't help what others do and what they didn't do to help, I only know that I gave my 110% each week to try to support him. As many of you did too. Votes and TV time is essential and as much as we wanted him to stay, it's obvious that TV didn't think Jon had enough to keep viewers coming. That's my opinion. It's what I evaluate from the situation. Even if we had every single Salsero/a, everyone in all the Central FL dance schools, his HS, etc etc. Would of it made a difference? Maybe? Maybe not. In the end, it just wasn't enough.
Jonathan has a gift and I truely believe that his journey didn't end. It's only the beginning of a wonderful career in dancing & much more. His family has so much to be proud of and so much more to come to them as they see him progress into his life. He has shown many of us that dreams can come true if you follow them and persue them. I say it over and over because it's the truth. We all want to become something at one point of our lives. Become a Professional Athlete, Dancer, Movie Star, or maybe a Doctor, or Lawyer. Those that go for it can acheive it. It's like in the movie with Will Smith. "In the Pursuit of Happiness" he went for something that no one felt he could do. It's that little piece of ambition in your mind that makes you want it so much. You'll do anything to get it. Those are the people that acheive and make dreams come true.

We all have it in us. It's how do we get it to work for us. :)

That's all I have now. I will keep ya'll posted about Jonathan's endevours when they come. :) Thanks to everyone for their support.

U be the Judge.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVxNzIW1ZnY

Here is the video of Jonathan & Karla's 3rd routine. Was it their best. I don't think it was but was it as bad as Nigel stated. I don't think so either. The comments were very harsh, but in the end it's up to everyone that voted. I can't imagine to learn so many different styles and be able to conquer them all. This one just wasn't his "Swagger". Hopefully with votes he will be safe from the competition.

Please watch tonight's Show at 9pm on FOX.

That's it for me.

Something to remind ourselves about life!

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND
One day a man saw a old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pinto was still sputtering when he approached her.
Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe; he looked poor and hungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you. He said, 'I'm here to help you, ma'am.=2 0Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.' Well, all she had was a flat tire,But for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt. As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped.

Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way. He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, 'And think of me..' He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight. A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her Feet for the whole day couldn't erase.. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude.. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan .After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door... She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin. There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: 'You don't owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I'm helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you.' Under t he napkin were four more $100 bills. Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard.... She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, 'Everything' s going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson.' There is an old saying...... 'What goes around comes around.' Today I sent you this story, and I'm asking you to pass it on. Let this light shine. Don't delete it, don't return it. Simply, pass this on to a friend Good friends are like stars....You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.
WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND ~GOD BLESS!~

Jonathan is Safe and MOVES ON!

Jonathan and Karla move on the Next week episode of SYTYCD! Stay tuned for more NEWS!

CONGRATS TO JONATHAN!!! WOO HOO!

Jonathan Platero ~ Talent soars as the world comments on him.

As MSNBC comments on Jonathan and Karla's performance. He gains a bigger following because now he is a force to be reckoned with. He has been put in the AOL's Best Television TOP 5 Moments!

People are wondering how did this young man who dances salsa learned to do this. It's called determination, and preparation. Jonathan did go to take classes of salsa, but he also took contemporary, jazz, etc. He did his homework to take dance classes that where going to help him learn. He is a excellent choreographer and did many routines with his partner of 4 years, Yahaira Sierra, and when he competed and he did all the choreography. His creative mind and competitive drive gave him the ability to do what he wanted to do. Now he is on National TV showing the world, he can dance.

One can't pinpoint a single school or a single dance genre to make people understand what got him there. Because it was his will to learn and his passion to dance that got him up there. It took him 5 years to get him on that show. He was 16 and just learning salsa, now he's 21 and he is learning more and more types of dance and is becoming a known dancer in the SYTYCD show.

That's my opinion. I will always look at Jon, from the first time I seen him perform. Sweet, determined and unafraid to show people what he is made of. He is made of heart and soul of dance. Salsa is in his heart, but dancing is in his blood, and performing is in his soul.

That's it for today. Stay tuned for more. :)
